Update - Biden Spouse Parole -- Stopped by the Court

Updated: Dec 12, 2024

President Biden did try to make a path toward residence for a very deserving group -- those who are married to U.S. Citizens who have been here at least 10 years.... Unfortunately, days after the program was announced, it was challenged and the judges final order stops the program.

Imagine being a couple in the U.S., where one partner is undocumented. Despite being married to a U.S. citizen, obtaining legal status and peace of mind requires navigating a lengthy process involving a waiver request on Immigration form I-601A and later attending an interview at a consulate in your home country. This process is both time-consuming and inconvenient. Is there a way to skip this process and directly apply for residency within the U.S.?

"Keeping Families Together" is the parole initiative introduced by President Biden earlier this summer. It is specifically tailored for spouses of U.S. citizens who have resided in the country for over a decade. Information about the program and the necessary form can be found on the USCIS website. (www.uscis.gov) However, due to a federal lawsuit led by Texas and other states, the program has been put on hold until September 23, 2024, and then stopped on November 13th.
